LyraTM long pulse Nd: YAG laser

The most recent advance in lasting hair removal and vascular lesion treatment is the LyraTM Long Pulse Nd: YAG laser. Utilizing the principles of selective photothermolysis, light is converted to heat energy when selectively absorbed by melanin (dark pigmentation in the skin). Using the optimal wavelengths, energy levels, duration parameters, etc., hair follicles can be destroyed and blood within the vessels can be coagulated while the surrounding epidermal components remain intact. The LyraTM laser has been proven to be safe and effective on all skin types and its parameters can be adjusted to accommodate the level of melanin in the skin.  Rather than penetrating the skin with a needle (as in electrolysis), or a knife (as in surgery), laser light passes through the skin and targets the follicles concentrated melanin and/or vessels, which absorb the light and superheats, thus disabling or destroying the hair follicle and/or sealing the blood within the vessels.

LyraTM has a computer-controlled scanner that allows for quick and accurate treatment of the tissue.  This means that you can easily fit effective treatments into your busy schedule.  Clinical experience has shown long lasting results equal to or exceeding those of electrolysis. Patient satisfaction level in results achieved is high.
